Contributors
Don't just use the future. Help build it.
Build the skills, workflows, docs and fixes that make AgentKit better for every builder. Approved contributors earn a referral commission on the sales they refer, at a tier reviewed every month.
Open to existing paying AgentKit customers, v1 and v2 buyers included, with a verifiable GitHub and customer identity. Admin approval and a program agreement apply; acceptance is not automatic.
The contributor loop
Apply. Build. Ship. Earn.
One loop, repeated every month. Verified work from this month sets your tier for the next one.

How it works
From customer to contributor.
Sign in to your AgentKit account with GitHub.
Verify purchase and GitHub
We check that your account owns AgentKit, v1 and v2 purchases included, and read your GitHub numeric ID from GitHub sign-in, never from a typed username.
Apply and accept the agreement
Tell us what you plan to contribute, share links to your work, and accept the Contributor Agreement. We record its version and a fingerprint of its text.
Admin review
An admin reviews every application. Approval is a human decision and is not automatic.
Onboarding and first contribution
Approved contributors get access to the contribution repositories for their verified GitHub account and start with a first reviewed contribution.
Monthly evaluation
At the end of each UTC month we total your verified points and your eligible referred revenue and set your tier for the next month.
Referral payouts
Referral earnings follow the existing referral payout rules, from your account payout page.
Referral commission
Your tier, reviewed every month.
Contributors earn a referral commission on net attributable sales they refer. Your tier is re-evaluated monthly from your verified points, and the higher tiers also require qualifying referred revenue.
- 40%Contributor
- 50%Builder
- 60%Core contributor
| Tier | Referral commission | Verified points per month | Eligible referred revenue per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contributor | 40% | 15+ points | None |
| Builder | 50% | 50+ points | $1,000+ |
| Core contributor | 60% | 100+ points | $3,000+ |
- Thresholds are provisional and may change with notice on this page. They are not a promise of any tier or rate.
- A tier change applies from the next month and only to future sales. The rate is recorded with each sale when it is credited, so a later change never alters past earnings.
- If a separately agreed partner rate applies to you, the higher rate is used. One order never earns twice.
Scoring guide
Points come from reviewed evidence, not commit counts.
A maintainer reviews each contribution, links its evidence and applies a quality coefficient to the base points below. Some types are capped per month so volume cannot replace quality.
| Contribution | Base points | Monthly cap |
|---|---|---|
| Merged code change | 10 | No cap |
| Tests | 6 | No cap |
| Docs or tutorial | 4 | 30 |
| Reproducible bug report | 3 | 15 |
| SkillX skill or workflow release | 8 | No cap |
| Validated community support | 2 | 10 |
Counts
- A merged pull request that fixes a bug and adds a test for it.
- A tutorial that is published after review.
- A SkillX skill that passes review and is published.
- A support answer a maintainer confirms solved the problem.
Does not count
- Typo-only or whitespace-only changes split across many pull requests.
- Duplicate reports or content copied from elsewhere.
- Generated changes nobody tested or reviewed.
- Work that is later reverted: its points are reversed.
- Every point has a source: a pull request, release, post or report a maintainer can open.
- Each contribution counts once. Reverted or duplicated work loses its points.
- Scores are reviewed every month; a finalized month is locked.
- Disagree with a score? Appeal by email within thirty days of the decision.
- A month below your tier gives a warning first, then a downgrade. After 3 months in a row that meet no tier, membership is suspended. Removal is always a human decision.
Referral or contributor?
Two programs, one referral account.
Anyone can refer with the standard referral program. The contributor program is for approved contributors and replaces the standard commission rate with a monthly tier. You never earn both rates on the same order, and an order that already earned a commission keeps its rate.
| Compare | Standard referral | Contributor |
|---|---|---|
| Who can join | Any AgentKit account with a referral link. | Existing paying customers with a verifiable GitHub and customer identity. Admin approval and a program agreement apply. |
| Commission rate | Starts at 20% and rises with the total revenue you refer through the public referral tiers. A custom partner rate can replace it. | 40% / 50% / 60% by qualification, reviewed every month. |
| Discount for the buyer you refer | 20% off by default. AgentKit can customise it per referrer. | The standard referral discount. Contributor status changes the commission rate only. |
| Payout | Request it from your referral dashboard by PayPal or bank transfer. Commissions are approved after 14 days, and the smallest payout is $50. | The same dashboard, methods, approval period and minimum as the standard referral program. |
| Your referral link | One link for your account. | The same link and account. Approval changes the rate on orders paid after your tier starts. |
| Update rights | None beyond what you purchased. | Continuing kit updates while your status is active. This is conditional, and what you bought stays yours either way. |
Benefits and conditions
What you get, and what it depends on.
- A referral commission on net attributable sales, at the rate of your current monthly tier.
- Continuing kit updates without annual renewal while your contributor status stays active. This benefit is conditional and ends with your status.
- Access to the contribution repositories for your verified GitHub account. All changes go through pull requests and review; it is not unrestricted source access.
- Recognition as an AgentKit contributor and a direct line to maintainers for feedback.
- If your status ends, what you bought stays yours: purchased versions, paid update windows and your v1/v2 rights.
No guaranteed income.
The Contributor Agreement.
You keep the copyright in your work and grant AgentKit a license to use it. Every commit carries a sign-off, private code stays confidential, and the agreement explains tiers, payouts, status changes and appeals.
Contributor questions.
How much will I earn?
No guaranteed income. You earn a referral commission on net attributable sales you refer, at your monthly tier: 40% / 50% / 60% by qualification. Tiers follow your monthly points, and the higher tiers also need qualifying referred revenue.
Who can apply?
Existing paying AgentKit customers, v1 and v2 buyers included, with a verifiable GitHub and customer identity. Every application needs admin approval and acceptance of the program agreement.
I already have a referral link. What changes when I become a contributor?
Nothing about your link or account. Once approved, orders paid after your tier starts earn the contributor tier rate instead of the standard rate, never both. Commissions already created keep the rate they were created at, and the standard referral program stays open to everyone else.
How and when am I paid?
Contributor commissions are paid through the same referral dashboard as the standard program, by PayPal or bank transfer. A commission is approved at least 14 days after it is recorded, unless it is held for review, which protects against refunds. The smallest payout you can request is $50.
What happens to the kits I already bought?
Nothing changes. There are four separate things: the versions you bought are yours to keep; your paid update window runs for the time you paid for; the contributor update benefit lasts only while your status is active or warning; and AgentKit Desktop licenses are separate yearly licenses. Ending contributor status touches only the third.
I bought v1 or v2. Can I apply?
Yes. Verified v1 and v2 purchases count as customer history. Your legacy rights stay exactly as they are, whatever happens to your contributor status.
Do I get access to the source code?
Approved contributors get access to the contribution repositories, linked to their verified GitHub account. Every change needs a pull request and review, protected branches cannot be pushed to directly, and private code stays confidential under the agreement. Access granted through the program is removed when your contributor status ends.
Can my tier go down?
Yes. Tiers are reviewed every month. A short month gives a warning first, then a downgrade to the tier you do meet. After 3 months in a row that meet no tier, membership is suspended. An admin can reinstate a suspended member.
What about refunds and chargebacks?
Referral earnings on an order that is refunded or charged back are cancelled, exactly as in the referral program.
Who handles taxes on my earnings?
You do. You are responsible for reporting and paying any taxes due on your referral earnings where you live.
What if my application is rejected?
You see the reason on your account contributor page and can apply again later with more evidence of your work.
Can I leave, and can I appeal a decision?
You can leave at any time by contacting support. To appeal a score, status change or removal, email support within thirty days; someone who did not make the original decision reviews it.
Every contributor starts as a customer.
