Every AI media model, one command away

Generate, analyze, transcribe and convert media from your terminal or your agent. Twelve providers, one interface, your own keys.

Twelve providers behind one interface

OpenAI, Gemini, MiniMax, OpenRouter, Leonardo.Ai, BytePlus, Cloudflare, ElevenLabs, fal.ai, Atlas Cloud, Replicate and HeyGen share one command shape. Switch models without learning a new SDK.

Generate images, video, speech and music

Nano Banana and Imagen images, Veo and Seedance video, Gemini Flash TTS with 30 prebuilt voices, ElevenLabs voices and SFX, MiniMax music, HeyGen avatar videos. Images land as verified WebP by default.

Documents to Markdown

`multix doc convert` turns PDFs, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, images and HTML into clean Markdown through Gemini. Pipe a file through stdin or batch several inputs into one output.

Media utilities built in

Optimize a video to a target size, split long recordings into chunks, or batch-compress a folder of images. ffmpeg and ImageMagick do the work; multix picks the codec from the output extension.

Remote MCP server and REST API

Connect any MCP client to run multix commands in isolated Cloudflare Containers. Outputs stream to your own R2 bucket, provider keys stay encrypted per account, and a REST API with account keys serves scripts and CI.

Careful with your keys

Gemini keys rotate on 429s with per-key cooldowns. A cloned repo's .env cannot silently redirect your API key to another host, and keys are redacted from remote job output.

Install and add a key

Run `npm install -g @mrgoonie/multix`, drop at least one provider key into `.env` or `~/.multix/.env`, then `multix check` to confirm tooling and keys.

Run the command you need

Pick a provider and a verb: `multix gemini generate`, `multix elevenlabs tts`, `multix doc convert`, `multix media optimize`. Outputs land in ./multix-output.

Hand it to your agent

Agents call the CLI directly, or connect to the remote MCP server and run the same commands in Cloudflare Containers with results returned as URLs.

Built with AgentKit

AgentKit Engineer
multix started as the media scripts behind AgentKit's ai-multimodal skill. Agents kept needing the same things: describe this video, transcribe that call, make a hero image, shrink this file. Python scripts tucked inside a skill folder were hard to share, so on 2026-05-02 I ported them into a standalone TypeScript CLI. Then the providers piled up: Leonardo, BytePlus, Cloudflare, ElevenLabs, fal.ai, Atlas Cloud, Replicate, HeyGen. The repo carries AgentKit plans for each provider, and the CLI still reads legacy AgentKit skill .env files when you opt in. In October the remote MCP server landed, so agents without a shell can run the exact same commands in Cloudflare Containers.

What's shipped

  1. v1.7.0: choose the R2 directory for job outputs (opens in a new tab)

Remote MCP accounts can now set the directory path in their own R2 bucket where job outputs land.

  2. v1.5.0: REST API with account API keys (opens in a new tab)

A JSON REST API at /api/v1 to manage provider keys and R2 storage, read the catalog, and run and poll jobs, with OpenAPI docs.

  3. v1.4.0: configurable job concurrency caps (opens in a new tab)

Per-account and server-wide job limits became configurable, and the legacy per-provider MCP tools were dropped in favor of the CLI runner.

  4. v1.3.0: run multix commands in Cloudflare Containers (opens in a new tab)

The MCP server now runs real multix CLI commands in isolated containers with ffmpeg and ImageMagick behind four meta tools: catalog, run, job status and cancel.

  5. v1.2.0: per-account provider keys and R2 storage (opens in a new tab)

The dashboard gained an input for every provider key the CLI reads and an R2 storage card for each account's own bucket.

  6. v1.1.0: OAuth sign-in for the remote MCP server (opens in a new tab)

GitHub OAuth sign-in and a per-account provider keys dashboard for the hosted MCP server.

  7. Self-update command and fal.ai provider (opens in a new tab)

Added `multix update` and a generic fal.ai model runner for image and video.

  8. WebP images by default (opens in a new tab)

Every image generate and edit command converts its result to verified WebP, keeping dimensions and transparency.
